In addition to the use of sustainable building materials and regenerative heating systems, the façade design and the glazing used, in particular, play an important part in making buildings energy-efficient. Our highly insulating glass NEUTRALUX® is the key to energy savings at the highest level. With a U-value of up to 0.9 W/m²K, these insulating glasses are among the best available on the market.

Function & properties:

The heat-insulating property of the insulating glass is optimized by the precious metal coatings on the glass surface. To prevent such coatings of elemental silver from appearing like a mirror in visible light, they are hidden in a cleverly devised "layer packing" in such a way that our eye can hardly perceive them. In double glazing, one surface is coated, and in triple glazing, two surfaces oriented towards the space between the panes are coated. The choice of filler gas in the space between the panes and the optimized pane spacing additionally reduce heat loss. The coatings for NEUTRALUX® advance are designed to combine maximum thermal insulation (low Ug value) with high values for solar gain (g-Value) and daylight utilization (light transmission).

NEUTRALUX connect®

Insulating glass for improved reception of mobile-radio data signals in buildings

It’s not always the cellular dead zones that are to be blamed when tablets, smartphones and the like have  poor or no reception. Modern thermal insulation glazing too acts like a Faraday cage, blocking a large part of the mobile-radio signals. Sometimes it is not possible to even receive phone calls indoors—let alone use apps or Internet applications—unless there is access to a WLAN.

Yet such glazing and façades are now a necessary component of the statutorily prescribed thermal insulation concepts in office buildings or public institutions. In homes, too, insulating glass with precious metal coatings has long been ensuring reduced heating costs and  lower consumption of resources. This is where NEUTRALUX® comes in. Thanks to its innovative structure, NEUTRALUX®  connect makes conventional insulation glazing permeable to all currently common cellular frequencies, including the new 5G standard. What’s more, with NEUTRALUX® connect, the thermal insulation properties of the insulating glass remain almost completely intact.

Function & properties:

NEUTRALUX® connect is based on an innovative refining process that gives the thermal insulating glass a fine structure that is almost invisible to the human eye. This design enables high transmission values for all cellular frequencies. In double-glazing insulating glass, the transmission values are higher by a factor of 1000 compared to conventional thermal insulation glazing. If a modern triple glazing is used, the transmission improves, in fact, by a factor of 10,000. The Ug value changes only minimally, so the thermal insulation properties remain intact and all requirements for a low-energy building are met.

Warm Edge

All NEUTRALUX® heat-insulating glasses can also be fitted with a thermally improved edge seal, also called “warm edge”. For the Uw-value of the window, this means another slight improvement.
