Glass and window surfaces are the main target when attempting to break into a house or building with force. So preventative protection from the glass is an important basis for security. ISOLAR MULTIPACT® is a range of products from ISOLAR® offering protection to individuals and buildings against attack and break-ins of any kind. The production process for bonding the glass and plastic as well as the construction of the bonded panes are specially adapted for the nature of the expected attack.
Security starts with planning. The requirements for the glass and window surfaces must be integrated sensibly into an all-encompassing security concept. Depending on the expected nature of the attack, ISOLAR MULTIPACT® is available in the following designs:
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® PA
Glazing is regarded as impact resistant when it prevents penetration by objects thrown or tossed (test in accordance with DIN EN 356).
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® PA impact resistant glazing is tested in accordance with the European standard EN 356 using the ball drop test. These tests replicate the demands made on the glass when something heavy is thrown at it. The division into classes P1A to P5A according to EN 356 is carried out with the aid of different drop heights of the 4.11 kg metal ball (classes P1A - P4A) and the number of ball drop tests (P5A).
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® PB
Penetration resistant glazing
Glazing is regarded as penetration resistant, i.e. resistant to break-in or out, when it delays any opening in terms of time (test in accordance with DIN EN 356).
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® PB penetration resistant glazing is tested in accordance with the European standard EN 356 using an axe machine. This test replicates the demands made on the glazing during an attack with a sharp impact tool. The classification into the classes P6B, P7B and P8B according to DIN EN 356 is made with the help of the number of blows, which creates an opening of 40 cm x 40 cm.
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® BR/SG
Bullet resistant glazing
ISOLAR MULTIPACT BR/SG bullet resistant glazing form ISOLAR is tested in accordance with the European standard as per DIN EN 1063. This involves firing a total of three rounds at each pane. The division of classes BR 1 - BR 7 and SG1 and SG 2 according to DIN EN 1063 is done among other things, according to different weapons, calibres and shooting distances. (No own production, only trade items)
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® EH
Attack resistant glazing in accordance with VdS classification
Insurance companies often demand that the person taking out the break-in insurance takes special preventative measures such as the use of certain glass products. ISOLAR MULTIPACT® EH-Glass has been tested and certified in accordance with the requirements of VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH.
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® EH attack resistant glazing from ISOLAR® has been tested in the Verbandes der Sachversicherer (VdS) laboratories against criteria which represent an even higher level in comparison with comparable tests as per DIN 52 290. ISOLAR MULTIPACT® EH glazing with impact resistant properties is graded in class EH 01 and EH 02 in accordance with VdS criteria.
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® EH glazing with penetration resistant properties is graded in class EH 1, EH 2 and EH 3 in accordance with VdS criteria.
ISOLAR MULTIPACT® Fall safeguarding according to DIN 18008-4
Glazing that protects against falling is regulated in DIN 18008-4. The standard applies to vertical glazing and horizontal glazing sloping to the attack side, which protect people in traffic areas from falling sideways.
