Cutting, grinding, drilling for perfect glass refinement

Glass is unique, not only because of its transparency but also because of its structure – it is the only known non-crystalline solid. Therefore all glass processing techniques shall be exactly coordinated with the glass material’s special features.

For perfect glass cutting, the special features of the various glass products have to be taken into account. Numerically controlled cutting machines and even high tech applications like water jet cutting are being employed.

Chip removing techniques don't come in question for glass grinding and drilling. In doing so, smallest glass particles are blasted and ripped. Water is used in these processes, which serves as a cooling agent and helps wash away worn glass particles. Bevels, fluted bevels, edge finishing, miter return, countersinking, drill holes of every sort are examples of glass processes used with this technique. Areas frosted from this procedures are made once again "crystal-clear" through exstensive polishing.

The cutting, grinding and drilling of glass products are prerequisite for use in numerous applications.

Your ISOLAR® partner has, by way of his own production and by his membership in the ISOLAR® group, access to all available glass processing techniques.
