Coatings: High tech on the glass surface

A special significance befits the visual surface quality of the transparent glass material. Simultaneously, the surfaces offer unique possibilities to award the glass products additional functions. Numerous product features like transparency, reflections or electromagnetic radiation emissivity are a decisive influenced by the surface.

Energy saving through coating technology

The energy-saving features of NEUTRALUX® heat insulation glass are the result of the most modern coating technology. The same holds true for SOLARLUX® solar protection features. Both functional insulating glasses owe their desired effect to the coatings which are placed on the glass surface by the so-called "magnetron process".

Low reflective glass

Low reflective glasses are asked for in particular where reflections should or must not handicap transparency. This is valid for numerous safety areas but also for shop windows with exclusive products or the presentation of exhibits behind glass for example. Special coating techniques can help assure that glass surface light reflection ceases almost completely. ISOLAR AMIREX® combines low reflective glass surfaces with heat insulating features.

"Low-maintenance " glass

How does glass behave when confronted with pollution and dirt of all sorts? The glass surface is a decisive factor. New materials and technologies on the glass surface help to simplify the maintenance of the glass surface care and prolong glass cleaning intervals considerably. Glass can be coated to make liquids virtually "pearl off" the surface. On the other hand there are also coatings which allow water to form an even film on the glass surface. Coatings which are able to decompose organic dirt are already possible, too.
