VOLTARLUX^® solar energy modules are transparent facade elements, which can be installed in all usual constructions like conventional glass elements, however with a decisive difference: they are a solar power plant which produces electric current every day, even if it’s overcast or partly cloudy.

An additional attractive benefit: due to our innovative thin layer technology based on amorphous silicon, the modules are so finely structured that they seem transparent to the human eye. That’s how VOLTARLUX^® lowers light influx without any additional shading system and without causing hard shadows. VOLTARLUX^® solarenergy modules consist of solar cells and glass which are laminated in a technical process similar to the production of laminated safety glass.

VOLTARLUX^® modules can be manufactured as a monolithic construction or in the form of insulating glass. They are suitable for vertical facade installation and can be employed also as over-head glasswork. The solar energy module’s visible structure can be varied to compliment architectural design.

According to national technical approval No. 70.3-72, VOLTARLUX^® solar energy modules can be used in Germany for standard sizes and installation with line-type bedding.
