SOLARLUX®: Solar control glass - Energy saving an creative design
Modern insulating glasses for sun protection are considered "all-rounders", which help in every season and every weather to assure a pleasant room climate. The sun irradiation consists approximately of half visible light and infrared radiation. The infrared share of the sun irradiation is primarily responsible for the heating of rooms behind glazed areas.
According to energy use, it is particularly good if the coating can "distinguish" between visible light and infrared radiation because a high share of the visible light passes through the glass while the infrared radiation is largely reflected. Therefore, the room climate is regulated, and possibly the air-conditioning system is better supported. Whereby daylight is optimally used, which saves energy for lighting.
In addition to sun protection in the near infrared area, the special design of coatings prevents the warmth under such weather conditions from escaping from the inside to the outside and so saves heating energy.
